Henri VAN LIER, philosopher and anthropogenist, lived from 1921 to 2009.
In 2007, he devoted a 83-page text to the work of Micheline LO.

Among his publications on art, he wrote, notably :
Les arts de l'espace (The Arts of Space), a book published six times between 1963 and 1979.
Nine articles on the arts, published in Encyclopaedia Universalis from 1968 to 1972.
Philosophie de la photographie (Philosophy of Photography),
published six times between 1983 and 2007.
He took an in-depth look at Micheline LO’s work, which he describes as:
A painter of “living formations.” Micheline LO paints “formations,” not “forms.”
A formation is never complete. It is always in the process of forming.
A “cosmogonic” painter. Her painting is “resonating” and “reasoning” with the scientific beliefs of her time,
particularly with those of late 20th-century biology.
A painter of the “cerebral landscape".
He sees the “springs” of “cerebral landscapes” as similar to those of “living formations.”
Gaps,
Connections,
Interactions,
Triggers,
Sequences and re-sequences,
Elements that assemble and disassemble,
Formations in the process of being generated, being transformed, or being disappearing.
Thus, for Henri VAN LIER, Micheline LO will not only be a painter of the “cerebral landscape”—as she herself said—
but also a painter of living formations.
